What is the New York Working Families Party?
The New York Working Families Party (WFP) is a political party built by and for working people. We are a multiracial, grassroots movement of union members, parents, tenants, people of faith, and everyday New Yorkers who believe in one simple idea: government should work for the people, not the wealthy and well-connected.
For more than two decades, WFP has led the fight to elect champions like Tish James, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Zohran Mamdani, Jumaane Williams, and Brad Lander — and to win landmark victories like paid sick days and tenant protections.
In New York, we have the chance to vote for our favorite candidates on one of multiple ballot lines. A vote on the Working Families ballot line (Row D) is a vote to tax the ultra-rich to invest in universal childcare, affordable housing, healthcare, and a city where working people win.
