Who We Are

The New York Working Families Party (WFP) is a political party built by and for working people. We are a multiracial, grassroots movement of union members, parents, tenants, people of faith, and everyday New Yorkers who believe in one simple idea: government should work for the people, not the wealthy and well-connected.

A vote for Working Families Party candidates is a vote to tax the ultra-rich to invest in universal childcare, affordable housing, healthcare, and a state where working people win.

WHO WE ARE

The New York Working Families Party is a coalition of community organizations, labor unions and individual members, comprising over 257,000 New Yorkers. For more than two decades, the Working Families coalition has led the fight to elect champions like Tish James, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Zohran Mamdani, and Jumaane Williams — and to win landmark victories like paid sick days, raising the minimum wage, and strong tenant protections.

What is Fusion Voting-
and Why It Matters

New York is one of only a handful of states that still allows fusion voting. That means more than one political party can endorse the same candidate, and voters can choose which ballot line to support them on.

When you vote for your favorite candidate on the Working Families Party line, that vote counts toward their total — and it strengthens the WFP. The more votes cast on the WFP line, the more leverage we have to push elected officials to govern boldly for working families.
